Her mother is good friends, and was once the mentor of, Laurie Collyer who wrote

Her friendship with best friend Kirsten Dunst ended when Dunst broke up with
Maggie's brother Jake.
Was accompanied by Peter Sarsgaard to the Golden Globes 2003. They are dating
ever since.
