She is also credited as contributing to the all- star chorus of the anti-apartheid album "Sun City: Artists United Against Apartheid," organized by Steve Van Zandt, also in 1985.

13 June 2006 - Was forcibly removed from a walnut tree on a South Central Los Angeles Community farm where she had stayed for 23 days to protest the sale of the farm to developers. Forty other protesters were arrested at the same time. Fellow activist Joan Baez also participated in the protest.
The box-office performance of Splash was a large part of the reason that the Walt Disney company greenlit the made-for-television sequel, but also their animated feature The Little Mermaid. The fact that Daryl Hannah's character was blonde, however, inspired the company to go in a radically different direction for their new heroine. For this reason, the choice was made that Ariel would have red hair.
